Icona House LLC (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates Anser at getanser.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using Anser you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Account data

When you create an account we collect your email address and a hashed password, managed securely through Supabase Auth. We do not have access to your plaintext password.

Shop knowledge base

Content you provide to build your knowledge base — including shop descriptions, communication style, policies, and product information — is stored in your account and used exclusively to generate reply suggestions for you.

Message history

Customer message exchanges you paste or save within the app are stored in your account. This content is processed by our AI provider to generate suggestions and is never used for any other purpose or shared with third parties.

Usage data

We track the number of replies generated and your current subscription plan to enforce plan limits and provide account information. We may also collect basic technical data such as browser type and IP address for security and diagnostic purposes.

Payment data

Payments are processed by our payment provider (Lemon Squeezy, a Merchant of Record). We do not store your card number, expiry date, or CVV. We only retain a customer reference ID provided by the payment processor to manage your subscription.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To provide the Anser service — generating reply suggestions based on your shop data
• To process your message content through our AI provider (Anthropic) for the sole purpose of generating reply suggestions within your session
• To manage billing and subscription status
• To send transactional emails (account confirmation, billing receipts)
• To detect and prevent fraud or abuse

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your message content or shop data to train AI models.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your account data and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data, knowledge bases, and conversation history will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

To delete your account, contact us at support@getanser.com. We will confirm deletion within 5 business days.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Deletion — request deletion of your account and associated data
• Export — request a machine-readable export of your data
• Restriction — ask us to restrict processing in certain circumstances

6. Cookies

We use cookies minimally and only for essential purposes. Specifically, we use a session cookie to keep you logged in across page visits. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. You can clear cookies through your browser settings at any time, but this will log you out.

7. GDPR — Rights for EU Users

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

• The right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
• The right to object to processing based on legitimate interests
• The right to data portability in a structured, commonly used format
• The right not to be subject to solely automated decision-making

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), hashed password storage, and access controls. However, no system is completely secure. Please use a strong, unique password for your account.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes by email. The “Effective date” at the top of this page reflects when the current version took effect.
